Bruce Springsteen: I’m Playing For Obama

Two more shows have been added to Bruce Springsteen’s roster as he continues to push his support for US presidential hopeful Barack Obama.

Bruce has confirmed new shows in the Ohio State University, Columbus, and the Eastern Michigan University on October 5th and 6th respectively.

If you want to catch the show you can get tickets from Barack Obama’s official website or in one of the Campaign for Change offices dotted around the cities.

The shows are to aid the presidential candidate raise funds and awareness and is something that Springsteen, and generally any music artist, is ideally placed to assist with due to his legion of loyal followers.

I don’t agree with these types of shows personally. Presidential candidates should only use the media to get their message across – not to try and land grab votes by aligning themselves with the popular people.

Yes – it is necessary – because that is the way the current system is ran but campaign spending has become farcical these days – with the money being spend to sling mud moreso than actually thinking about how things should change and the best ways to move forward. It is almost like it is a fashion vote to get the hotseat and only when the race has been won is any proper thinking done on any issues.
