Australian Artist To Smoke Kurt Cobains Ashes
The controversy is just dripping off this latest announcement by Australian artist Natascha Stellmach.
Natascha has claimed that she has acquired the ashes of grunge legend Kurt Cobain, and that she will smoke them in a spliff as part of an Art Exhibition in a particular part of the event celebrating the dead!
Kurt Cobain’s ashes were stolen from Courtney Love in May this year and when asked of how she obtained the stolen ashes, Natascha said:
“That’s confidential and kind of magic. They came to me. And I am setting him free.”
The event, which they are deeming the “Final Act”, will take place on 11th October at the Set Me Free exhibition at Berlin‘s Wagner + Partner gallery.
In another strange part of the show Danish artist Marco Evarissti plans to feed death row inmate Gene Hathorn to goldfish as part of the show.
The news has been met with much uproar and scepticism.
How would you feel if someone was smoking your ashes following your death?
As for me – Well I’d be deciding to dust of my white sheet, poking two holes in it for my eyes and making like a pretty pissed ghost!
There are quite clearly no depths that people won’t stoop to in order to get some press…
