Stereophonics in Canadian Police Chase

Two days ago (21st Sept), The Stereophonics were attempting to evade the Canadian Border Police in a high speed chase that saw them eventually being pulled over.
Kelly Jones had this to say:
“What a day. We got chased by the cops for two miles - for illegal parking”
It seems strange that the tour bus driver felt it necessary to drive at high speed in an attempt to ditch the cops. What were the lads hiding?
I couldn’t possibly theorise as that could be termed as defamation - but you guys can…
