Glastonbury 2009: No limit To Ticket Sales

Glastonbury organisers have announced that festival-goers are free to purchase as many tickets as they wish when the tickets go up for sale in October.

Festival organiser Michael Eavis is happy to receive the sale as long as buyers have valid registration numbers.

The tickets go on-sale on 5th October at 9am. Fans who have previously registered at the Glastonbury website do not need to register again, however if you are not registered you can do so now.

Fans will have two options when it comes to ticket sales - to buy a full weekend ticket at £175 (plus £5 booking fee) or to reserve a ticket at £50 each.

Previously we reported in our article: Glastonbury Festival: Getting Desperate? how Eavis decided to put Glastonbury tickets on sale earlier than usual in the hope of boosting ticket sales for 2009 after very slow sales for the 2008 event.

I am assuming that this move is aimed at the ticket louts. Those who have the pockets deep enough to buy large amounts of tickets to sell later on at a marked up price.

I don’t see how this is a benefit to the average joe.
