Snow Patrol Release ‘A Hundred Million Suns’ Album on iPhone
Snow Patrol have released details of their fifth album release ‘A Hundred Million Suns’.
The new record is set for release on 28th October this autumn.
The album is the follow-up to snow Patrols 2006 seven-times Platinum album ‘Eyes Open’, which sold an impressive 2.1 million copies in the UK alone and over one million in the US.
The album is set to be released with a twist, being the first in history to make use of the multimedia capabilities of Apple iPhone technology.
The new interactive application will be available for iPhones and iPod Touch and will allow users to download the application and access bonus content including track lyrics, album artwork and behind-the-scenes images.
Snow Patrols product manager Liz Goodwin is very excited by this venture, speaking to the Trade Paper she said:
“It will be an interactive element; a digital booklet that will take you into the videos and content.
For fans it will be a real must-have, and the fact that they are the first band to do this gives us an additional angle for exposure.”
So is this the future of album sales or just another gimmic?
