Richard Ashcroft: Not Abandoning Solo Career
The Verve Front-man, Richard Ashcroft has announced today that he will return to recording solo material again, even though The Verve have just reformed and released their first album in 11 years.
The Verve disbanded in 1999, and Richard released three solo albums, ‘Alone With Everybody’, ‘Human Conditions’ and ‘Keys To The World’.
Speaking in a candid interview with Radio 1, Richard told Zane Lowe:
“I will continue my solo stuff, but it seemed a shame to leave this thing (The Verve) dormant when there is so much talent there.”
The Verve recently headlined the final night of the Glastonbury Festival, taking on The Pyramid Stage to wow fans. The band are set to release their new album entitled “Forth” in the UK on 25th August and in the US on August 19th.

The Verve are also taking part in the V-Festival on 16th (Weston Park) and 17th (Chelmsford) August.

I think he should just stick with the verve! They are much better as a unit than solo.
But then, the man is his own man…
