Russell Brand Takes Centre Stage For MTV Awards
It has been announced that Russell Brand is to host this years infamous MTV awards.
The British comic is said to be delighted after his hard slog this year trying to break into the movie and presenting industry. Russell who has spent the past year working on perfecting his stand-up comedy act in America is certainly making waves in the entertainment industry.
His performance in “Forgetting Sarah Marshall”, where he played a rock star boyfriend, has won rave reviews from critics, so good in fact that he has been asked to star in the sequal.
Of the MTV Awards, also known as the VMA’S (Video Music Awards), Brand has been quoted as saying :
“It’ll be good to preside over what is sure to be only vaguely coordinated televised insanity. I’m planning to have lesbian kisses with Britney and Madonna individually. It’s not going to be easy, what with my genitals, but God, I will try. I thought I might trust my luck and improvise. I’ll have a couple of glasses of gin and just stagger out there and bellow with the Jonas Brothers.”
The MTV Video Music Awards are set to be held September 7th in Los Angeles.
Hopefully MTV will put some pressure on Brand to write for the auto-cue as having him ad-lib maybe a little to wreckless for an award ceremony that will be watched by millions of children. Russell is known for sex laced comments which may not be appropriate for the younger ones.
