R Kelly : NOT GUILTY!
R’N'B star Robert Kelly a.k.a R Kelly has been acquitted of the charges of child pornography!
In a shocking outcome that completely blows video usage in courts, the Jurors returned the verdict of not guilty. The initial vote during juror deliberations went 9-3 in favour of acquittal, so strong was the ‘reasonable doubt’ in their minds.
The prosecutions star witness was a woman who claimed that she actually engaged in sex acts with the defendant and the underage girl but the Jury heard her testimony with little regard as the victim and her family contested that it was even her in the video.
I find it staggering that the Jury believed the video to be convincing but not conclusive and this sets a precedent for all future evidence that is presented as video or image surveillance.
The star can now concentrate on getting his new album, 12 Play: Fourth Quarter, out this summer and put this whole sorry mess behind him.
