Arctic Monkeys: New Album
The Arctic Monkey’s have revealed that they are to work on new material this summer for their third album – but it won’t be released this year.
At the moment the band are said to have six songs ready – This is a collection of demos and songs they have been playing while on tour.
Alex Turner is quoted by NME as saying “No, take it easier, chill out a bit and consider” in regards to the release of a new album. While in the studio recording the existing 6 tracks, in January, the band were apparently tempted to stay in and complete the record – but decided against it.
I can understand the need to chill out and take it easy. Tours can be a string of stressful and tiring events. It’s not just a case of turning up and playing. The band has to get around as many local radio stations, TV studio’s, photo shoots and God know whats else.
They should also take the time to enjoy their wealth. Why work yourself into the ground when the true end goal of work is to have enough money to enjoy yourself?
