Scott Weiland: I kicked Velvet Revolver Not the Other Way Round

Scott WeilandFeeling he was being picked on, singer Scott Weiland has come out fighting and released a statement indicating that he was done with Velvet Revolver back in March.

This statement holds some credit as reported by MTV, here,  back in March he is reported to have told a sold out gig in Glasgow that they were “watching something special … the last tour by Velvet Revolver.“.

He stated that the band was dead in the water back then due to constant infighting and trips to rehab.

Not content to leave it there he also jibbed at the remaining members in their search for a new lead singer by saying “P.P.S. Good hunting lads, I think Sebastian Bach would be a fantastic choice.“. Charming.

Its the fans I feel for. Weiland is renowned these days for just walking off stage. His comments in front of the Glasgow crowd also strike a chord of complete unprofessionalism – but then he already knows the Stone Temple Pilots will get back for their reunion tour this summer so he won’t be stuck for work.

Well, Scott Weiland is a lacklustre singer and too androgynous for the masculine rock n roll of Slash, Duff and Matt. I was disappointed when I heard he was the singer for Velvet Revolver, because I feel Sebastian Bach would have suited their style better. They were never grungers, they were rockers from the KISS school of music from the crotch and not the cranium. I don’t really care who initiated his departure, I’m just glad he is gone.
